Localization Project Manager

BioWare is looking for a candidate to fill a Localization Project Manager position in our Localization Department. The Project Manager reports to the Localization Producer and will assist in the day to day operations of the department. The qualified candidate will be extremely organized, meticulous, hard working and flexible. This individual will be responsible for file and asset management on large scale localization projects. The Project Manager assists the Localization Producer in assessing the progress and quality of project tasks. This individual will also be required to liaise with external partners and resources, with confidence and superior professionalism. You will be required to perform other production-related duties as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the full localization effort for one or more of the studios products
  • Communicate localization processes and requirements to project teams - follow up to ensure requirements are met
  • Act as a key liaison between internal development teams and external localization partners
  • Schedule localization efforts and keep localization on schedule
  • Coordinate resources throughout the company and/or third party vendors to ensure successful localization of projects
  • Manage localization content and assets for assigned projects
  • Establish processes and standards to make the localization process more efficient and effective
  • Ensure that external partners meet milestones and receive all necessary technical information
  • Oversee third party translations and ensure accuracy and effectiveness of all translated materials
  • Investigate and resolve localization bugs/issues that arise during testing phase
  • Coach others as required through knowledge and experience to help build an effective team
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Localization, Localization Team, and the Marketing Department to research and develop potential localization markets
  • Assist in building a database of and vetting potential external partners, including all types of localization service providers and testers
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years production or project management experience working on complex projects
  • Minimum 2 years localization industry experience, preferably in video games or entertainment
  • Successful completion of a related and recognized post secondary program (example: Business, Project Management and/or Communications)
  • Solid knowledge of video games (PC and console) is preferred

Skills / Abilities / Personal Suitability

  • Ability to prioritize and clarify assigned tasks is essential
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks at one time is required
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to follow tasks through to completion is required
  • Excellent documentation and editing skills are preferred
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, spoken and comprehension/listening) is required
  • Self motivated, flexible, adaptable and practical
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Knowledge of a second language is preferred
