Game Programmer

BioWare is looking for qualified and experienced programming applicants for our programming department to help make the highest quality game engine.

Required Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in computing science or computer engineering
  • Minimum 3 years professional game software development experience or 6 years professional non-game software development experience
  • Experience creating command-line and GUI applications for Windows
  • Knowledge and experience with C/C++
  • Passion for playing video games and be able to relocate to Edmonton, Alberta
  • Strong knowledge of C++ and the Win32 API
  • Passion for optimizing and refactoring code

Recommended Skills

  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with requirements gathering and interfacing with customers
  • Familiarity with game-editing suites (such as Q3Radiant, UnrealEd, The Elder Scroll Construction Set, Dungeon Siege Tool Kit, or the NWN Toolset)
  • Familiarity with console APIs (such as the Playstation 2, GameCube, or XBox)

Demo Submission

A Win32 program and source code demonstrating your skills in one or more of these areas would be a definite asset to your submission. You should document the source of any 3rd-party material (including algorithms, libraries, or graphic content). The demo can be an e-mailed attachment, mailed CD, or you may provide a website link.
