Prestigious game developer achieves "Top" success

BioWare Corp. is recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada - October 22, 2003 –

BioWare Corp. is honoured to announce that it has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers. "This award is a great honour, and it reflects the continuous hard work of our Human Resources department to make BioWare a great place to work. It is important to BioWare because it reflects our core value of quality in our workplace, and it also demonstrates that BioWare is an employer of choice for prospective employees not only in Canada, but world-wide," said Joint CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka.

The future for BioWare continues to look bright. The recently announced Jade Empire,TM an Xbox title to be published by Microsoft in late 2004, marks BioWare's first creation of an entirely new, proprietary intellectual property since the company's inception. "BioWare is very excited to be in a position where we have the experience, maturity and confidence to undertake the huge task of creating a compelling new game property. Many BioWare employees have been interested in this type of creative challenge for quite some time, and we're very pleased to be able to provide this opportunity," commented Dr. Greg Zeschuk, Joint CEO, BioWare Corp.

Data for Canada's Top 100 Employers award is compiled and analyzed by Mediacorp Canada Inc. who received a record number of applications this year, a staggering 51,000 applicants from across Canada. The Top 100 Employers provided information based on outstanding Human Resource practices, exceptional growing success and contribution to the community.

BioWare was also honoured as one of five finalists for the first Ongoing Achievement Award from the Business Development Bank of Canada. The selected few that were chosen for this nomination, have been past winners of the Young Entrepreneur Award between 1988 and 2002, and have continuously displayed outstanding success and growth in Canada. BioWare was a 1997 recipient of the Young Entrepreneur Award, just two short years after the start of the company. The Business Development Bank of Canada is a financial institution wholly owned by the government of Canada. BDC plays a leadership role in delivering financial and consulting services to Canadian small business, with a particular focus on technology and exporting.
