BioWare attends local Career Fair

For the third year in a row, BioWare has participated in the annual Career Fair at the University of Alberta. CaPS is Career and Placement Services at the University of Alberta, and for almost 15 years has been providing U of A students and Alumni with information and advice on career and work search strategies. Their September Career Day brings business representatives and students together to discuss employment opportunities.

BioWare has a very good relationship with the University of Alberta and has many of their Bachelor of Science graduates working in our programming department. As well, we want to provide as much information as possible to future candidates, to better help them prepare for a job in the gaming industry, if they so desire.

We provided a representative from our programming and design departments, as well as two Human Resources staff members who provided information on our art and administration departments. We do admit that it is not hard to attract eager young minds when you're playing a looping demo of Star Wars gameplay and great game animation! However, our staff were happy to let people linger around the booth watching our demo film, and were then ready to answer the inevitable question: what do I need to do to get a job at your company?!

Although we cannot accommodate every single applicant, BioWare has a long history of offering employment opportunities to bright young graduates who may lack work experience, but have lots of potential and the qualifications we need in good junior level employees.
