The 1st Edmonton BioBoards O.T. Shindig

On January 25, 2003, people from our Off-Topic board were invited to a gathering of local board members. Despite the sub-sub-SUB-freezing weather, five prominent Off-Topic members (and some significant others) and nine BioWarians (with some significant others) gathered at Boston Pizza on Edmonton's Whyte Avenue for an evening of food, drink, and merriment.

Conversations ranged from B-movies to work, from accident-prone friends to cartoons, from art to hats and pumpkins and elves, and everything in between! Off-Topic forum members Ocicat and Matt, LadyWolf and LordWolf, Jaara, Ciller and Milil faced off against the intrepid corporate team of Craig Miller (with others), Nathan Plewes, Gina and Shane Welbourn, "Evil" Chris Priestly, Stanley "Ninja Monkey" Woo, Jonathan Epp, Derek French and Tom Ohle.

The pictures Chris took do not do the evening justice. We were treated to LadyWolf's fantastic stories of life on the trade show circuit, Ocicat's uncanny resemblance to a feline, Ciller and Milil's mischievous side, and Jaara's uncharacteristic silence--all of which contributed to much laughter, camaraderie and the ever-present question: Why the heck haven't we done this before, and will we do this again?

Thanks go to Milil for organizing the first ever OT Shindig, and we're looking forward to more gatherings henceforth! Ever.
