Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the casting call for?
BioWare is looking for a wide variety of people to use as face models for characters for upcoming games.
2. Which game are you casting?
All of them! We always need faces!
3. How many people or models do you need?
A typical BioWare game can have 300 + characters. So as you can see we will need a number of models. And we need models of all kinds!
4. When will you let me know if I've been chosen?
We will be casting a number of characters this spring and summer. It’s hard to say when we might call. We will keep the photos on file for a number of years. We’re photographing hundreds of people so we will only call the people we want to come back. Please don’t call us. We will call you if we want you to come back. For updates on games visit this website regularly.
5. Will I be paid for having my photo taken at the casting call?
No.
6. Will I be paid if you want to use me for game characters?
If you are selected by our game producers to have a 3D scan you will be required to sign a Performer's agreement and you will be paid a fee for the use of your image.
7. How much will I be paid?
That will be discussed with you if you are selected to be a head model.
8. What will happen if you chose me to be a character in your game?
We will arrange for you to have a 3D scan of your head. This 3D scan is then converted to a 3D head model that can be used in games. It will take about 1- 1.5 hours to perform the head scan.

An example of a 3D face scan.
9. How is the head scan done?
The best way to describe it is to say that hundreds of pictures are taken of your head from a variety of angles all at the same distance. This information is used to create a 3D image of your head in the computer.
10. Will there be nudity involved?
No.
11. What if I change my mind, can I say no?
Sure. Just because we take your photo at a casting session does not mean that you are committed to any further participation. Of course if we cast you we'd really love you to be in our games but we won't force you. If you do choose to have the scan done, we will require that you sign a BioWare Performer's Agreement. This will give BioWare the right to use the head scan. Once you have signed the performers agreement you will not be able to change your mind about us using the scan.
12. Can I be the voice?
The voices are done at a much later date and are performed by professional actors. If you are an actor and would like to submit a voice demo to BioWare please feel free to do so at any time.
