BioWare Forums Pass 5 Million Posts

By Jay Watamaniuk

The Norwegian Flag

By a mix of uncanny skill, lightning reflexes, and a giant sea sponge of luck, longtime community member fulgore84 hit send on the 5 millionth post to grace our forums on August 17th, just before 5pm. To help wrap your head around just how big five million is, I draw this comparison: it would take roughly five million jars of jam to completely cover the country of Norway* which, by almost chilling coincidence, is where fulgore84 makes his home. To celebrate this massive milestone in our community, we decided to give him a whole bunch of stuff from the BioWare Online Store and harass him about his thoughts on the forums:

BioWare has had over 5 million posts in its community forums. Is that crazy or what?

fulgore84: Very crazy! I saw after posting that there were 5,000,010 posts in the forum and thought to myself: "Well, I wonder what lucky [unfortunate parentless child] got the 5th million post." Guess I just got lucky there. :)

You have personally posted over 3000 times in these forums since joining a few years ago. What topics interest you the most?

fulgore84: Well, since you started sharing forums with Obsidian Entertainment, I have been following Neverwinter Nights 2, its progress, and the developers' feedback. Of the topics that concern Bioware, my largest interests are Neverwinter Nights and different topics concerning that game, and Dragon Age, even if those forums are a bit scarce on information right now.

What do you like about BioWare's forums?

fulgore84: The ability to keep track of my friends and their gaming rituals, the looks, and the system to keep control of one's games with CD-keys. Absolutely a great thing.

What are some features you would like implemented into the current forums to make them even better?

fulgore84: Well, the least demanding one would be a thumb's up icon. Second would probably be a poll system. Even though I manage fine without it, I see several places it would be an advantage. The loading time also seems to be a tad slow, but with all the statistics and 5 million posts+ it is quite understandable that it spends a bit of time on loading.

What is your favorite BioWare game?

fulgore84: Neverwinter Nights, without question. I've done everything I imagine I can do with that game, even creating custom content.

~

BioWare would like to extend its thanks to everyone who makes this one of most amazing and thriving game communities on the planet. See you for the ten millionth post!

* Norway is described by the Lonely Planet guide as "a ruggedly beautiful country of mountains, fjords and glaciers."
